TERRIFIC

THIS MOTION PICTURE IS OFFICIALLY AN AFFILIATE OF THE FILMMAKING PARAGONS.

Sequel is a scary idea. It has a huge responsibility of continuing the original's legacy by expanding the story organically without tarnishing the established essence and quality. Very few sequels managed to do the job as per prescription, and thankfully Toy Story 2 is one of it!

Everything is fine in Andy's (voiced by John Morris) playhouse. Woody (voiced by Tom Hanks) and Bo's (voiced by Annie Potts) romance going strong. Mr. Potato Head (voiced by Don Rickles) is a responsible husband to Mrs. Potato Head (voiced by Estelle Harris). Buster the new dog gels well with the toys, and Woody scratching Buster's belly is a sight to behold! Things go south when Woody's arm get accidentally ripped off. He ends up in a yard sale and gets stolen by Al (voiced by Wayne Knight) of the Toy Barn company. What happens afterwards is up to you to watch and find out.

The Toy Story franchise always deals with mature and realistic themes. While the first film was about friendship, acceptance, tolerance and realization, Toy Story 2 turned the switch one knob further by posing important questions such as "Just how long is the shelf life of a toy?" and "What does it mean to be a toy?". Knowing the future is uncertain and his owner is growing up, Woody still chooses to come back to Andy. Jessie the cowgirl (voiced by Joan Cusack), Bullseye, and Stinky Pete the Prospector (voiced by Kelsey Grammer) are valuable addition of characters to this franchise.

Rex's (voiced by Wallace Shawn) videogame action in Zurg’s planet, showcase of all Woody's collectables in Woody's Roundup, Mrs. Potato Head packing for Mr. Potato Head, Woody being thoroughly cleaned by the toy repair specialist, toys crossing the road with traffic cones, Jessie's sad backstory with her owner Emily, Woody's debate with Buzz (voiced by Woody Allen) whether to stay or leave, Emperor Zurg (voiced by Andrew Stanton) proclaiming he's Buzz's father (paying homage to Star Wars), Woody trying to retrieve his arm from Al's pocket, Buzz Lightyear being placed back into the box by Utility Belt Buzz plus toys trying to control their temptation upon meeting the tour guide Barbie (voiced by Jodi Benson) are wonderful scenes and sequences. Stay tuned for the intelligent bloopers featuring the toys as actors. A Bug's Life cast thinking they're in a sequel is funny!

The filmmakers have made sure they take this journey to the maximum! Just like in the 1995 feature, the action-packed climax here is jaw dropping! Toys escaping a departing flight? Think about that for a second. When you see how these helpless toys doing things beyond their means to achieve their little goal, it just melts your heart automatically. And that's the magic of Toy Story!

Woody: "Ride like the wind, Bulleseye!"
