TREAD CAREFULLY. YOU'VE BEEN WARNED.

Meet the man who pioneered dark superhero films before it became mainstream & cool. Bryan Singer's X-Men is one of the finest comic-book adaptations to be put onto silver screens. This is a thorough entertainer that understands its scope & roots itself to actuality.

David Hayter's screenplay is a blockhouse with mighty establishment scenes; the kind of scenes where one wouldn't have any doubts after shown, elevated by sharp & clear dialogues. You comprehend the tension in the air. You know why the mutants are being afraid by humans. You apprehend what are the unshakable & steadfast motivations of Professor X (Patrick Stewart) & Magneto (Ian McKellen). Hence, you are on the stage now to witness the biggest battles between X-Men & Brotherhood of Mutants!

Almost every character has a nifty intro. Mystique, Storm, Jean, Cyclops, Rogue. Speaking of characters, if Hugh Jackman as Wolverine isn't iconic, what is? From the very first moment you see his blades piercing right out of the skin, you're sold! His confrontations with Cyclops (James Marsden) & flirtations with Jean (Famke Janssen) are some of the best sequences to look out for, including the motorbike steal!

Also, this is the first time all of us get to see Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters, Cerebro & operational X-Men team! The finale mission shows how a superhero action segment should be! Throw the good & the bad guys equivalent challenges to make the encounter interesting to watch! Wolverine tussling with the Wolverine-Storm shapeshifting Mystique oaths a nonpareil thrill ride!

Storm's & Jean's arrival at the rescue site is uncalled for. The actions can get over the top at times & Anna Paquin as Rogue can be annoying sometimes, obviously more with her generic, dubbed screams on top of the Statue of Liberty. Isn't it silly that Mystique (Rebecca Romijn-Stamos) reveals her eye color in the TV while impersonating Senator Kelly (Bruce Davison)? Halle Berry as Storm utters taught monologues only. The idea to trigger mutation in normal people is good, minus the lousy expansion sphere as the execution method.
